429 Media Group has very recently launched a new gay blog directory, which links to individual blog posts rather than linking to blogs. Gay bloggers are invited to create an account with Male sharing and start sharing their blog posts.

Male Sharing is a great tool for surfers to keep up with a lot of different gay blogs from one location. The thumbs and titles on the index page of Male Sharing are linked to the original blog post, which means surfers will easily click through to your blog(s). Surfers can also leave comment and rate the submissions.

I am often amazed at how little webmasters are using on-page elements for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). A lot of webmasters spend enough (or maybe too much) time on their site’s title and meta-tags, but forget to optimize the on-site elements. Here are a few tips which are easy to implement on your sites:

Header Tags (H1, H2, etc…)

Search Engines love texts that are in between header tags. The H1 tags are the most important, followed by H2 and H3 tags. So, it’s a good idea to put your site title and maybe some sub-titles between H1 tags. By default, the H1 tags appear in a larger and boldfaced font, but you can change that by specifying the font size and font style in your CSS. Be careful with header tags though, don’t overdo it!

Headers of certain parts of your site are in between header tags (such as “Blogroll” or Archives”), but those words are often irrelevant. A good advice would be to stuff those headers with keywords. For example, if you run a bareback blog, you could change the word blogroll and put in “More Bareback Sites” while you can replace Archives with “Bareback Archives”. Those two phrases of text still look natural, but are now stuffed with relevant keywords.

Boldfaced Texts

While less important than header tags, boldfaced texts are more important than regular texts to a search engine. You can pick some important words or phrases within your website and make them stand out by using the <strong> tags. For example: This site brings you the latest <strong>adult affiliate</strong> news.

Image Alternative Tags (alt)

The image alt tag is used to describe images on your site. If, for whatever reason, a browser in unable to load an image, the alt tag will be shown as an alternative. Alt tags are considered important by search engines, so why not use this as a possibility to mention some of your keywords? Ok, we’re still running that bareback blog. A good alt tag would be something like “hot guys fuck bareback”. An additional way of using keywords with images, is to use keywords in the name of your images.

Anchor Texts (title)

Anchor texts (or title tags) are used to describe a link. While these tags are not of much value for your own site, they are of value for the site you are linking to. So, when trading links with other sites, always make sure the other webmaster includes a relevant anchor text that describes the content of your site.

Something to remember!

Remember that your succes in SEO depends on multiple factors, such as the regular texts on your site, the number of incoming links and the domain name you are using. On-site elements are only a small piece of the total picture, but these are too important not to use.

Backlinks are very important in the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). If you want your site to do well in search results you need to have links to your site. The more links, the more important your site will be in the eyes of the search engines.

Of course, you can ask fellow webmasters to do a linktrade – but you can create your own backlinks as well. Be a little creative and you will find lots of ways to get your link on other domains. A few examples:

1. Create a blog at a free bloghost

It’s easy to create a blog at a free bloghost like Blogspot (be careful with adult content), Thumblogger or Sensual Writer. Add links to your main websites and you have created your first backlinks. These free bloghost domains already have good PR juice which will be passed on to your own site.

2. Use social media to link to your site

It takes a few seconds to setup an account on Twitter, Digg, Facebook or StumbleUpon. Once you have opened your account, just add links to your own site and you have created some more backlinks with a good pagerank.

3. Add your site in your forum signature

If you are an active member on any of the adult industry forums, be sure to include your url in your signature. No surfers will reach your site via that link, but at least the search engines will love it ! It’s even better to have your link in your signature on surfer forums.

4. Add your site to directories

Besides a boost in traffic after you have submitted your site to link directories, your listing will also count as a backlink. Unfortunately, links from directories are not that valuable, but hey you’ll get some direct visitors to your site as well.

5. Interlink your sites

If you have multiple sites, you can interlink them to creat backlinks. Having sites on multiple servers create backlinks that are worth more to the search engines.

6. Create a hubpage

Make one page that links to all your sites. It will not only bring your more visits, but the links to your sites are valuable backlinks as well.

Remember that backlinks are not the key to a good ranking in search results, but along with other factors (such as using valuable keywords) it helps you to score better!
