Record Studios sue RK Netmedia

Major recording studios sued pay-to-see Internet website operators, claiming they violate copyright by synchronizing pornographic videos to songs by major artists. The studios claim that Miami-based RK Netmedia and Realitykings.com “are engaged in copyright infringement of the most blatant and offensive kind.” They want the websites shut down, and punitive damages. Titan Media wins $1.35M lawsuit against MonsterCockTube

Judge Maxine M. Chesney from a U.S. District Court has awarded Titan Media more than $1.35 million. In August 2008 Titan Media started the lawsuit against the two owners (German citizens Thorsten Palicki and Maik Herrmann) of MonsterCockTube for pirating 9 Titan Media movies. Court rules in favor of RapidShare

RapidShare has announced this week that an appeals court in Germany has ruled in favor of the file sharing site, saying it could not be found liable for distribution of unauthorized files, and that forcing the company to filter all uploads would “produce too many false positives.” The court ruled in their favor because the company does not make uploaded files publicly available, and the uploaders themselves...
